**\[00:00\]** **Sean:** Hi, and welcome back to Website 101 Podcast. I'm Sean Smith, your co-host, and with me as usual is Mike Mella. Hey, Sean. How's it going? Great, great. So today is going to be a real short episode. We're just going to give a brief recap of what we did in season two, and what's coming up in season three?

The biggest news for season two was Mike came on as as a co-host, as an episode four, where we talked about how much does a website cost?

**\[00:32\]** **Mike:** Yeah, and yeah, we had a lot of great guests, well, there were a lot of great guests after I joined and before I joined.

**\[00:40\]** **Sean:** Yeah, exactly. So we talked about website hosting, and that was just me and Nevin, way back in episode two, and then I followed that up by talking about how to choose a web developer or an agency with Angie Herrera and interesting way Angie Herrera is coming back in season three that's great

**\[01:04\]** **Mike:** yeah she's always great to talk to well to listen to I haven't spoken to her on the show yet but yeah

**\[01:09\]** **Sean:** well you'll be able to talk to her and we're gonna be talking about maintenance plans and retainers sweet nice so myself and Mike did a few episodes in a row without a guest where we the first one we did together as with Mike as a coast was how much does a website cost short answer it depends yeah

**\[01:31\]** **Mike:** long answer go listen to the episode yes yeah that's right and then after that we got into a two-parter episode about web jargon in terms that a website owner needs to know and that was really great I think I think that was a great well great two episodes right yeah and actually Mike

**\[01:50\]** **Sean:** but a week ago Mike made a couple comments and we started a new Trello card where we've got new terms that we're gonna come up with maybe for an episode in season four we'll revisit web jargon coming up with things that maybe we've missed and then we moved on from that into a minimal viable product or MVP yeah

**\[02:14\]** **Mike:** that's another one with just just you and I doing that one right yeah and then

**\[02:17\]** **Sean:** we had our first guest with Mike and that was Gora of Iyer and he was talking all about

**\[02:25\]** **Mike:** copy editing and copy writing. Great episode. That was lots of fun. Yeah, I really enjoyed that.

**\[02:30\]** **Sean:** And then my favorite episode that we've ever recorded was photography and stock photos. Another one that we did just you and me. Just you and me came out just a few weeks ago and this episode, lots of actionable advice, and some instructions on how to edit and improve your photography

**\[02:51\]** **Mike:** that anybody can follow and do. And then after that, we got into talking about e-commerce with using Shopify with Mark Poppin. And that was a great episode too.

**\[03:04\]** **Sean:** Yeah, so if you're interested in running a Shopify store or learning a little bit about e-commerce, make sure you go check that out. So season three, when is it coming out? Well, there's going to be a little bit of a gap because we like to do seasons and record 10 episodes and then release them over time. So the target for season three is early 2020. So we've actually already recorded three episodes. The first episode is just me and Mike talking and we talk about do you really need a website?

The following episode, we talked about WordPress with Gregory Hammond, and Gregory had a lot of rock-solid advice for people who do it yourself and like WordPress. Make sure you take a listen to that. And just before recording our summary episode, we recorded using video with Peter Kelly, also very, very informative and interesting.

Both myself and Mike learned learned a couple of things ourselves. And we've got future episodes coming that are planned. We're going to be talking about Webflow. And we have a guest for that. I don't have recall his name off hand. We have another episode. There's a plugin for that where we talk about plugin usage. best practices on how to choose a plug-in, when you should use a plug-in, when you shouldn't, things like that.

Following that, we're going to be bringing back, we're going to be bringing back Angie. It was along with my brain today. We're going to be bringing back Angie your era to talk about maintenance plans and retainers?

**\[04:55\]** **Mike:** Yeah, so if you're considering keeping a web developer or a designer or whatever web professional on a retainer and work with them over sort of a long term, how does that work, what will it cost, all that kind of stuff? Following that, we're going to get into vacations. And everyone takes vacations sometimes. Web developers do, web site owners do. How do you work with them? Do you, you know, how do you plan what needs to be done during the vacation? Do you need to have someone fill in if there's an emergency? All those important things, we're gonna talk about that later in season three.

**\[05:30\]** **Sean:** Right, that episode, we don't have a guest plan for that one yet. So it might be just me and Mike, but we might be pulling in a guest as well. Following that, we're gonna be talking about email. So how to set it up, what's involved, some best practices where to get a free email account where you should do with a paid email account.

**\[05:55\]** **Mike:** And then we got Dan Wood returning for to talk about Google and Facebook ad retargeting. That's gonna be really interesting. I'm anxious to hear that. And just as a listener as well.

**\[06:06\]** **Sean:** Right, Dan was in a season one episode and he really knows his stuff. I've been working with Dan for several years now. We have a couple of mutual clients and we end up talking a lot about that kind of stuff. And then the final episode that we'll be doing is on content marketing.

**\[06:31\]** **Mike:** Yeah, and Gurav is coming back here by us, right?

**\[06:34\]** **Sean:** Your first guest, he's coming back. He was an excellent guest. First interview yet.
